DIRECTORS CUT

After watching a great movie, have you found yourself inspired to create one of your own? Do you look up to the great directors of our times and dream of joining their ranks as entertainment icons? You are not alone.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a beginner taking their first steps into the world of film direction, this year’s Spring Spree welcomes all to join DIRECTORS CUT, our own short film competition. Participating directors will be given a theme and the rest is up to them. Cast your actors, write the script and shoot! And If its incentive you need, there are plenty of cash prizes to be won but like any great director would say, it’s not about the money.. Is it?

So get your cameras out, study the films of your favorite directors, and get ready to create! India’s very own Cannes begins soon!

THE AMAZING RACE

'The Amazing Race', an exhilarating joyriding epidemic ,is a race inspired by the critically acclaimed show which involves a two-person teams unpredictably traversing a territory defined by the creators following mind-boggling clues and performing various localized challenges that are nerve-rattling and ludicrous, to win the bonanza cash prize!
It’s one truly amazing race, involving be it either teams of insanely experienced travel-lovers or the naiveté, pitted against each other to see who comes out on top eventually, in an engulfing plot of clues that lead you through the complexity of the challenges and destinations visited, they elevate to an entirely new level with each passing round.
Contestants travel about in any available mode of transport like in autos, cycles, bikes, cabs, buses, following the clues to the next destination. Some clues direct them to perform crazy tasks, either by a single member or together. The tasks test your skill, ability and courage combined in your best speed.
The race presents unscripted dramatic and humorous situations that one just can’t miss! 

HAUNTED HOUSE

Hot spring night, a warm gust of wind swoops down your back. A lone owl peers down below. The hard asphalt’s echoes guide your labored footsteps down the road. Shrill screams arrest your mind… only for a moment. The explosion of a million thoughts, deafen you, screaming, begging to act NOW. But they all boil down to two things, FLIGHT or FIGHT. Your sweat, more effective than the most chilling rains, torrential, like thousands of needles prickling your spine. Your blood pounds, fear poisoning every artery and vein. Watch your friends wince, shriek, scream, step by step as they inch through this hair raising, thrilling encounter. You’ll be petrified- rendered incapable of blinking.

NITMUN - Suit Up

In the corridors of power, the suits are conservative, but ideas radical.

Welcome to the world of high stakes diplomacy, where the wits and words can build bridges of trust, and a lack thereof can burn them.

In this NITW's simulation of the world’s most powerful diplomatic organization, delegations from all over the globe will engage in the most prolific war of words, and psychological games to converge on a common resolution to try and save a planet on the verge of a climatic disaster, on a brink of energy crisis and prone to an eco-political collapse.

Can the delegations compromise to achieve the peaceful solutions, or will flags be turned upside down in declarations of war.

Suit Up, gather you wits, and bring your poker face.

“Delegates, we are now in session……and remember….it’s nothing personal.”

SPOTLIGHT EVENTS

Neck breaking, head banging, lunges, meetings with world leaders, fashionists and loads of other sights is what this year’s SPRINGSPREE has to offer.

To give you a better idea about what we’re saying, let us elaborate on the spotlight events:

                TEAR IT UP:

This is our annual B-Boying competition. A platform for colleges throughout the country to showcase their talent in the hopes to exhilarate you.

                ALLURE:

The event to catch ,if you want to see all the sensual models of the region displaying their very own original designs.

                IRA:

A duel between the best college rock bands in the country. Promises? Unique and original compositions with beats that will make you swing and swoon. We bet that your necks will hurt the next day due to all of the head banging.

                NITMUN:

NITW’s very own version of Model United Nations. This is a forum where you can put forward your stand on various global concerns related to the nation represented by you. 

                MINUTE MADE:

Last but not the least and definitely one of the best events we have to offer. Minute Made is the Renaissance Edition’s new addition to the Spree. This is where you get the chance to exhibit any of your talents within a single minute. Modeled on the popular television show “60 Seconds to Fame”, This event will surely blow your minds off.
